Description

Current dining facilities research and trends directed UVA Dining Services to approach us to install audio for a five zone, 60,000 square foot dining facility that serves thousands of University of Virginia students daily. The client identified a need to have a large system that would have clean musical audio in four separate zones, from the open floor of the main dining and food serving area to two separate meeting rooms, an upper mezzanine area, and including the kitchen. The system was designed to handle up to four separate inputs, so that each zone could have its own audio. This configuration allows for various usage options such as the kitchen staff can listen to CDs, while the main dining area is tuned into satellite radio, and a meeting room can have audio dedicated to a movie or A-V presentation. We also installed a wireless handheld microphone for announcements, and special events. Using a combination of nearly 50 flush-mounted ceiling speakers and wall-mounted wide-dispersion speakers, we provided even and ample sound coverage to all areas of the hall.
